Nathaniel (Nat) Stoddard is Chairman of Crenshaw Associates and serves as a CEO and Board Advisor, OnBoarding Advisor, Development Coach and leader of Crenshaw’s Directorship Prep Practice and CultureMapping® work.
He is a proven CEO with over 30 years of business experience primarily with branded consumer durables and professional services, having served as President, CEO and Chairman of private and public entities ranging from $300M to $1B. Nat is the author of THE RIGHT LEADER: Selecting Executives Who Fit (Wiley, 2009) a book that details the state-of-the-art process for assessing cultural compatibility and executive fit.
Nat has an M.B.A. from University of Denver (Honoraries: Beta Gamma Sigma; Sigma Iota Epsilon) and a B.A., with honors, from Denison University (Honoraries: Alpha Kappa Delta, “D” Association). He is an AVA Behavioral Analyst, a Certified Ski Instructor (PSIA) and in 2012 completed a nine-year section hike of the Appalachian Trail (2,178 miles from Georgia to Maine). Today, Nat is a member of the board of directors and the Executive Committee of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the governing body of the ATC. He has over ten years of experience on the boards of public and private companies and several successful start-ups. He has also served on a variety of economic, trade and development Advisory Committees to federal, state and regional government, and NFPs. He is a former Air Force pilot and a Vietnam veteran.
