Executive Advisor
As an Advisor for Crenshaw Associates, Mary Green brings 20 years of experience working with senior executives in transition. In addition to working with clients seeking their next traditional role, Mary has significant experience partnering with executives to explore alternative career paths. She has supported clients in their journey to acquire or start up a business, plan for an active retirement, create a portfolio career with diverse paid and volunteer opportunities, and identify board roles.
Previously, Mary was a senior executive in corporate communications, investor and analyst communications, and public relations roles at Swiss Reinsurance Life & Health, Reader’s Digest Association, and Champion International Corporations (now International Paper Company). In these roles, she scripted talking points and conducted media coaching for the CEO and executive team, directed employee and marketing communications, managed crisis communications and public relations activities, and was senior spokesperson to the national media.
Mary regularly draws upon her corporate communications experience when preparing executives for their job search. The job search process is one where verbal and written communications, as well as body language, are under a microscope, and Mary knows first-hand how to anticipate the tough questions and help her clients develop sound bites to deliver a strong message of value. This perspective drives every one of her coaching engagements and ensures her clients are “camera ready” for all interviews and networking opportunities.
She is a certified AVA (Activity Vector Analysis) Analyst and earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Communications at Michigan State University.
