Richard Staveley

Executive Coach

Richard Staveley is a highly experienced international leader turned Executive Coach who has worked in the UK, USA, Europe and the Middle East.  He is particularly effective in supporting clients during times of transition and in helping them build their professional effectiveness as part of transition. He supports senior executives to enjoy their growth in business performance, and his clients span many jurisdictions, geographies, and cultures.  He is especially skilled in supporting clients with leadership, enhancing their effectiveness, and managing turbulence and uncertainty. He has advised clients on board management, market development, product innovation and optimizing the performance of boards as well as people management. Richard’s operational experience has provided him with finely tuned sensitivity toward the realities of business leadership today.  He also leads cross cultural leader and team effectiveness work.  

Richard’s sector experience lies in Technology, Oil and Gas, and Government, having worked with companies such as IBM, Chloride (UK FTSE 100 engineering company) and BP. He has a particularly strong commercial background, having led a $200M P&L at IBM. In addition, Richard led and delivered significant M&A projects with PWC and IBM where he was known for his complex business acumen and people leadership skills.   

Richard’s first degree was at Oxford after which he completed a bespoke program at INSEAD.  He also attended Boston University’s business leadership program at their Questrom School of Business.

 Richard became hooked on coaching and mentoring when he witnessed its powerful effect at IBM. He did his training in coaching at Henley Management school and is a Member of the ICF.
